Agriculture, tourism and hospitality. Those were the three main ingredients of the V contest gourmet of the orange of Sagunto held last Monday, March 7, 2011. In total, 14 restaurants aspired with their creations to the best starter, main course and dessert elaborated with this so characteristic of the Mediterranean diet citrus. Among the winners, restaurant El Faro, Canet d en Berenguer won the triumph after receiving the first award for the best main dish with its mock lasagna of suckling pig confit at low temperature, sauce of Orange and Arbequina ringlet. Embroidered the incoming restaurant El Rossinyol, of Naquera with a dish titled turban of foie gras with duck Magret salad with vinaigrette of Orange and, finally, creating Luna de Levante, of the restaurant Mar Blau of Jesus Gar, was crowned as the best dessert of the contest.

1750 Euros in prizes, 750 euros for the main dish, 500 euros for the incoming and 500 euros for dessert were distributed in total. Aspects such as the innovative character of the submitted recipe, the originality and the difficulty technique in the preparation of the dish were taken into account by the jury, composed of 6 members. The contest, called a successful, had assistance from the Mayor of Sagunto, Alfredo Castello, the delegate of tourism, Leonor Murciano and several councillors of the consistory.
